5 Wedding Cake Trends for 2017

I've seen so many new cake trends popping up on social media lately and I am loving it! Whether you choose to go a more traditional route or want something more creative and fun, these are the five cake trends that every bride should know about for 2017.

Cake Trend #1: Painted

From gold foil to watercolor and stripes, the painted cake trend is everywhere right now! It's such a fun way to express your personality and make the cake a special part of your decor.

Cake Trend #2: Textured

This is one of my favorite trends right now and is an easy way to add a little something extra without going overboard or affecting your overall design. I also really like it paired with greenery, metallics and florals.

Cake Trend #3: Monogram

This trend is perfect for all of my traditional brides out there. I am a huge fan of monograms and think it adds such a timeless, classic element to these cakes.

Cake Trend #4: Cascading Florals

I have been seeing this trend everywhere right now! If you want to make your cake part of your decor and have it as a focal point in the room or hallway, this is a perfect trend to try out.

Cake Trend #5: Mini Cakes or Dessert Bar

More and more brides are opting for a non-traditional route when it comes to their wedding cake. Whether that means multiple smaller cakes or no cake at all and a fun donut bar instead, there are a lot of ways to get creative (and save some money) if you are willing to steer away from the traditional wedding cake.
